Known issues

This page contains short summaries of known issues for the first version. Some issues are due to limitations of Microsoft Outlook. These are marked with <Outlook>.

  • <Outlook> If you forward a vCard from your PC using Outlook it removes the contact image (not send with the vCard)
  • <Outlook> If you open a vCard with an image in Outlook, it does not show or store the image
  • <Outlook> Not all fields that are available in Outlook and PocketOutlook are send with the vCard because they don’t fit in the vCard format (no proper property for it)
  • <Outlook> Outlook and SmartPhone contact cleanse only forward one e-mail address in a vCard. Other e-mail addresses are ignored
  • <Outlook> Outlook cannot handle UTF-8 vCards.
  • <Outlook> Outlook can only handle ANSI vCards, for now we will not account for other code pages
  • <Outlook> On SmartPhone Outlook does not check if contact is already present if you save a vCard; it just adds a new contact.
FAQ
Q: My phone number is not standardised. How is this possible?
A: The service tries to discover country code information from the phone number. If this is not possible we return the original number.
Q: My address is not standardised. How is tis possible?
A: A mismatch between the country stored with the address (outlook settings) and the actual address may be the cause. In this case, the original address is returned.
